I have been working with different ways to work with different metals. The metal choices being: bronze, brass, copper, and sterling silver. I spent the summer learning how to acid etch designs, antique beads, and put a patina on copper. I did very little with sterling silver, as metal sheet is expensive, making mistakes costly and the final products extra expensive. I do make all my own sterling silver ear wires and headpins.
You will find my most recent endeavor of creating enamel jewelry. There are so many different ways to work with the various forms of the enamel: powder, liquid, pencil, chunks of glass. Many methods of utilization.
So, I chose to work with copper. Below are the newest necklaces I created, made of copper that has been patinated either blue or blue-green with acid-etched patinated side plaques. Some beads have been antiqued. Everything has been sprayed with a permanent sealer (multiple times) to maintain the colors and it’s beauty.
Also included are hair clips or sweater pins made out of copper as well with a colorful patina and fun patterns.
