This year at Tucson 2024, we picked up some additional pieces of fine Jadeite jewelry to add to our inventory. The company we work with is Mason-Kay, the most respected jadeite dealer in the United States. They only work with and sell “untreated” jadeite in all their pieces. Our new inventory is displayed below along with a few pieces from last season.
If there is a piece of interest, I can send you individual photos and a price. Please email me with your inquiries to: coralyn@cwwhitneydesign.com

Nephrite is the less expensive and is more a mossy or yellowish green. Whereas jadeite, comes in emerald green, lavender, ice, red, yellow, white, black, and gray. The most prized, and expensive, is imperial green jadeite…an amazing translucent green. Necklaces made of imperial jadeite sell for millions of dollars, commonly seen in the Hong Kong auction houses. However, buyer beware, much of the jade on the market has been bleached or otherwise treated to enhance its beauty. If it is bleached, it becomes a bit brittle. Dyeing of jade is a permanent process too but it is not real. You don’t want to spend hundreds of dollars on some jade just to find out it’s worth far less. So, one needs an expert to differentiate those treated and those not. Do your research. If the price is too good to be true, then it has been treated or is of poorer quality.
